Right, wot went wrong here

A quick/ short translation from wot de owner off the spartamet wrote.

he drove his bike to the bus stop as normal. When he came back his bike wouldn,t start any more. So he walked back home. At home he checked the sparkplug and all wos good. So he put a dril on the flywheel trying to start his motor. When he did that a strange sound came out of his engine. So he had a look inside the engine. And found this < - look at the pictures.

Your thoughts please. Wot went wrong ?

Mine german is very bad. So if some 1 with a decend tranlater from english to german could tranlate this. It would be much appreciated

Da ist ein abgegangenes Bauteil durch den Ansaugkanal in den Verbrennungsraum gelangt.
Der Kolben hat es dann immer wieder plattgemacht.

Die Bilder habe ich mir lange angesehen.
Mir scheint es, als sei das Dekoventil am Schaft abgebrochen. Sieht so aus, als würde der Teller in Richtung Kolben herauswandern und vom Kolben dann zurückgedrückt worden sein.
Ich wüßte kein Teil, das über den Überströmkanal in den Zylinder gelangen könnte und denn immer in der selben Umgebung aufschlagen könnte.

Der Motor hat sicherlich mehr als einmal das Getriebeöl leer gesoffen. Sieht ja schlimm aus.
Ein total heruntergekommener Motor! Gut für Ebay: ...lief bis zuletzt.

Hi

When i look at the last picture the deco looks fine.( left form the sparkplug ) But the sparkplug is totally gone. I for myself cant figure out wot went on in side the cilinder.

And yeah the engine is a mess. But it can be repaired. But it needs a new crank shaft, crank shaft bearings, 2 wdr and a new piston.

Well mine thoughts are:

Something came inside the cilinder. Above the piston. And made a mess out off it. Or the engine became so hot that the sparkplug simply melted. It can happen you know ( that the engine overheats due to a bad piston ) Well any way it happened to me. I had a engine test running in the Schraubstock ( i hope the google translater gave me a correct translation ) Afther 3 min the engine became very hot. It became so hot that ye could lite a sigaret on it. So i pulled the kill switch. And the engine stopped running. I took the engine and started working on it. When i had the engine in to bits and pieces. It became clear wot went wrong. The piston was a mess.

But you can also say, something broke off the sparkplug and started running inside the cilinder above the piston. But when you look at the piston carefully you can see some threads pressed inside the piston. When you follow this direction it says, a bolt came somehow above the psiton. And wos forgotten when the engine wos put together. But when a loose bolt is near a running crankshaft it must give some noice. In other words, ye shoud hear this.

Well any way, we probally never find out wot went on inside the engine. But it made a terrible mess out off it

right 1 more thing.

wot also could have happend is, Remember the boults where you mount the carburettor with. When the owner used to long boults.Or 1 off them is to long. So the end off the bolt would end up near the crankshaft. The engine starts running and the crankshaft hits the end off the bolt. Afhter a while the end off the bolt breaks of. And starts a live off his own........

my idea is wrong, if the shaft of the deko-valve is unbroken, so that it can't be pulled out.

Schaut euch doch mal das letzte Bild an (Brennraum), da wo die Kerze sein müste ist was anderes aber keine Kerze, und das Deko wurde ausgeschraubt weil der Ventilschaft gebrochen ist. Nur was steckt im Kerzenloch ?.

If its allright with you all. I would like to copy this link ( thread ) to the dutch forum. So we all could learn something out of it.

i must admit that tnt_dennis has a very sharp eye. I totally missed that damage on the exhaust spot. It seems that the owner is a very Lucky guy. Cos the engine could easely seize / locked up.

When i look at the last picture. ( this is how i look at it ) The valve off the deco is stil in place. And did not fall out off place. I think its a piece off a bolt / Schraube wot came above the piston. And i think i know where it came from.Its 1 off the bolts where ye mount the carb / vergaser with wich is broken off cos it wos to long. This piece came above the piston somehow. When you look at the damage on the piston. You wil see some thread pressed into the piston.
